Founded in August 2008 by Wesley Lopez (vocals), Frankie Diaz (drums), German Lagares, (Guitars), and lastly joined by Orlando Lugo (bass) with the intent of creating a fusion of elements of different genres of metal such as (black, death, metalcore, slam, and hardcore). During this early stage, they were joined by Christian J Santos on lead guitars. The band quickly started performing at local venues such as S.O.S Burger, Soprano’s & La Cuadra and also opening for several international acts such as Warbringer & Deicide.
In 2012 internal tensions saw RK take a forced hiatus. During this time several band members took on different paths. Which left Wesley and Christian as the sole original members of the band. In early 2013 RK started regrouping this time with several new members David Aviles (drums), Ludwig R. Paz, (guitars), Enrique Chinea (bass). During this time RK started playing monthly shows on a consistent basis. In October 2014 RK suffered a great loss in the passing of Christian Santos which saw RK take a much needed break. After several months of inactivity they decided to regroup and keep marching ahead, they were joined by Jorge Velez (guitars). In 2016 RK recorded and released their debut album “I” along with the singles “420” & “The Truth”.
In 2017 RK played at the New York Death Fest for Gutter Christ Productions in St Vitus and a handful of shows around the city during the promotional cycle for their release.
After their return to the island, they started working on what would be their second album which was delayed for several years due to the destructive pass of Hurricane Maria through Puerto Rico. From 2017 - 2019 saw the band regrouping slowly to write the new material as to enter the studio, during the stages of recording saw another personnel change when Ludwig R Paz and RK went their separate ways. They were joined by Cesar Quiles (Tears Of Faith & Light The Path). Not long after founding member German joined for a handful of shows. This made RK decide to be a six piece band with 3 guitarists Jorge, Cesar and German.
2020 saw the world enter a pandemic and as much as everything else in the world stopped so did the recording sessions during this period German left to focus on other goals and RK was joined by Samuel Santana (2021). In 2022 RK released their sophomore album titled II with the singles “What The Moon Brings” & “The Burden Of Knowledge” Later that year Jorge Velez announced to the band that due to personal aspirations he had to leave the band this saw welcomed addition in early 2023 of Eric Martinez from (Another Fallen Soldier, Omnifariam). The band finds themselves hard at work on their next material.
